The Fountain was so deep, loaded with symbolism, and I found myself being transported from this mundane world into a sense of deep meaningfulness. Hugh Jackman was so geninue in actions and words. Rachel Weisz could capativate my complete attention. The gist of it was about Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, past- present, and future through time and space. One man embarks on a bold 1000 yr odyssey to defeat humankinds most omitable foe: Death. Hugh plays the man devoted to one woman and determined to protect her from forces that threaten her existence. This quest leads to the Tree of Life and to adventure into eternity. It's full of ideas and symbolism and Neubla the dying star. Talks about the Shibalba(in actual history it is spelled I think Xibalba) is the Mayan's belief of their underworld.
This movie ran out of cash and had to be shut down for two yrs and it was finally finished in Canada. It came out about two yrs ago and was listed as a four star and was not a big seller.
