From Karen:
I just want to let you all know that I finally figured out why that movie was brought to my awareness. I've been working on breaking away from the "dancing to the eyes of the father" pattern for the last several months. Well the way the feminine goddess is appeased, what she needs to blossom again, is a sacrifice of the masculine. But not just any masculine, not all of the masculine. Oh no, it must be the authoritative, judgmental, self-righteous, disdainful-of-the-natural, let-me-just-tell-you-how-it's-going-to-be masculine that must be sacrificed for the feminine to flourish.
Doh.

Love, Karen

I love this Karen, How many of us have been touched by that patterning. I know I have. Remembering the first time I realized that 80% of what I was doing in my marriage was in an effort to please, and be loved by...well, Tom,...well, no....Dad, well, no....God. Oh it is so confusing can't they all just love me as I am, probably yes, if I can find out who I am and be just that.
With ya, sister, this has been a highly revealing one for me and the process moving through it has been unbelieavable.
If "HE" would only love me for myself...ooay!!!!!
That movie had so much in it, I am still in the conversation of seeing how (and this is what has been working me lately), the betrayal of ourselves is fundamental to our passion. I see this clearly in the scene where he is "sweating...love bullets and feeling her call for his body on the other side of the wall..."
He cannot go to her, he must betray his body, which is fundamental to the unfolding of his passion for Christianity and sainthood. The betrayal sets up a furor with which the passion only unfolds. This is the Judas/Christ pattern.
And then the scene where he is being drug up the hill in the white gown...Jesus, enacting the passion that made him the Christ.
Love, love love it........
