SOUND AND SILENCE

An invitation to join us for a unique experience in Community Service

The first portion of our gathering - "Silence" (Group Meditation) – is intended for those who meditate regularly AND have experienced the grace of the Heart Center, either personally or through Others in the mystery of the Communal. Our intention is to practice the art of transfiguration into the fifth attribute of the Heart Center - Selfless Service - and then offer that to Others. If you have someone in your life who would benefit please let us know either in your attendance or through email prior to the gathering. We will also be doing some of the meditation holding our collective (world) in Radiance.

Using an ancient and until recently secret Tibetan process, called Tonglen meditation, we will be serving the Brotherhood-Sisterhood of the Heart Center. Obviously, and most importantly, this will NOT be about your personal process. – Our soul intent is to serve Others.

We will then take an extensive break. This is a good place to join the group if you are interested in the Sound portion only – and not the Silence portion. We will be feasting on whatever has been brought as potluck food, sharing and visiting a bit. This will be an open free time – of being together.

The “Sound” portion will begin in a poetry reading by Tom, with Kathleen accompanying on the harp. That will take us into the exploration of Sound and its capacity to soothe, heal, express, and bring us into the natural dynamisms of our own vibrational fields – and another form of communal expression. We will begin with our voices in sounding, possibly moving to instrumentation for sound and expression – opening to what is seeking voice – and ending with learning a new chant or group song. The intention here is to allow each one to find the way in which they can use sound/voice/rhythm, to balance, heal and attune themselves to ever-changing energies.

Music and sound is a universal communication which can attune each in a unique and profound way . . . join us to find the rhythm of you as a tuning fork for wholeness and a vessel of service.

We will meet the first Sunday of each month.
1:30 - 2:00 PM – Gathering
2:00 - 2:45 – Tonglen meditation/Silence
2:45 - 3:30 – Break for sharing food and chit chat
3:30 - 4:15 – Sound portion

I suspect it will be after the New Year, Anne. We have had a lot on our platters this past few months and if the forces are willing when it clears, we will get back to this piece.
I look forward to that time also.
So let us hold it in petition.

We will be doing our Sound and Silence gathering this Sunday May 24, same schedule. We will gather at 1:30 and begin Tongelen meditation promptly at 2:00, once we have begun, there will be no entry.
2:45 we will break for sharing food (potluck, bring what you love), chit chat
3:30 to 4:15 Sound experience.

Our last gathering though small was profoundly touched by something deeply stirring.
Hope to see some of you there.

We have been graced in this process with amazing forces.

The "silence" portion of the gathering is a beautiful service piece, that is silently allowed to move into ranges that serve not only the individual involved, they serve the much larger community through intention. It is an honor to engage this piece.

The 'sound' portion is continuing to show us the magnitude of the shared vibrational fields we engage/encounter.

I was astounded by the experience of a few people using drums, rattles, flutes, singing bowls and to "hear" the symphony of harmony that arose from it. Tom inducted us into "who or what is hearing"....and I can't say at all, and what I experienced was a beautiful symphony.
Now in "popcorn' consciousness I know a symphony cannot be made from drums fluts and rattles...and still it was!

Music hearing music???? what a mystery!
