Is inevilable in our lives.
We cannot do anything about it,
However, if you want to be
empowered and in control when
change happens, then take to
heart these motivitional words
"you cannot direct the wind
yet you can adjust the sails".

It seems to me the verses is speaking more to "noticing", "being present", "accepting what is" and adjusting your sails to what is the alternative often would be to have your "sails" ripped apart in the prevailing winds.
I don't get anything about a way to establish control. Or to feel "empowered" through "control". These preferences are only illusion when change is blowing your way.

Thanks for the input, I will need to let those thoughts steepe and return at a later date.
