I can certainly identify with your excitment when catching those large fish. I recall when we enjoyed fishing at Lake of the Woods in Minnesota and at Jakes Resort by Canadian Border. Walleye was a favorite. we would pull up to the shore clean and fry it and eat on homemade bread.
I remember when I fished at Jakes and I was reeling this fish in and Oh it was a battle. I thought I had a large one. It weiighed a little under 5-lbs; and those Northern Pike are fighters. They are so tasty pickled. VL
